Read for the House is sponsored by The Kramer Family and its businesses, Advantage Insurance and Newtown Insurance Professionals. The Kramer Family became involved at the Ronald McDonald House 15 years ago, volunteering a few days each month through the Therapy Dog Program. Now, we sponsor events, raise money, collect tabs at local schools, support the Food Services program, and of course, we’re still active with the Therapy Dog Program. Giving back is the core of who we are as a family, and how we run our businesses. We are so proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region in their efforts to provide lodging, food, and transportation to and from the hospitals for families of seriously ill children. The Kramer Family and our businesses are proud to sponsor the 2023 Read for the House program.
Books in Homes USA
Books In Homes USA supports several literacy initiatives at Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region. Last year, Books In Homes USA donated over 1,000 new books to the Read for the House program. Students were able to read the books and earn donations for RMHC Philly, while also augmenting their home libraries. Books In Homes USA also sponsored a Short Story Dispenser at the Ronald McDonald House, which offers children and families respites with short fiction, poetry and comics, as well as a vehicle to share and publish their own stories. To date, 18 stories have been published. CBSPhilly’s Ukee Washington’s “Brotherly Love” highlighted Books In Homes USA’s support, including the Dispenser as well as its provision and restocking of new books for the seven library lending trees available at the House.
